I have been a regular (and have brought several clients) here for a couple of years for dinner, brunch and appetizers/drinks. The service here has been consistenly terrible.. Last night was it for me. I went in there with my BFF for appetizers before going to a comedy club. The waiter was not only rude, but advised that there was a $4 up charge for carrots with our hummus. And, they would not give us the pita with it. So, essentially they want to charge us double for carrots and not give me the pita too? I'm not sure about you, but last I checked, I could buy a large bag of carrots for a buck. My friend got a little snippy with him as we have been coming here consistently for a while and this has never been the case. He was snippy back (customer is always right, no?) 3 weeks ago I was here and had a filet with burnt sauce on it that tasted like garbage. So, bye bye Turf Room. It was fun while it lasted. We won't be back.

New favorite place. I can't believe I have never experienced this place. Drinks, ALL fresh, martini served table side shaken. Bread, hot, butter had sweet and salty taste. Chicken roasted wad just good.. not fab. However, I had the Bubba chop, and I CANNOT say enough. It was amazing. We can't wait to come back.

Come here for the happy hour! Craft beers along with their discounted appetizers. Stable standard flat bread pizza and tres hummus are my favorite.

If you like cat food size portions this place is just for you! But the price tags is a joke! No thank you!

Everything is so good here, I can't just recommend only one thing. This place is amazing. It's gourmet dining good enough for any foodie in North Aurora, of all places. The menu changes periodically, but the staples stay on. I've been here for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner. Brunch is awesome, with a great Prime Rib buffet. They make you waffles fresh and the spread is just amazing in size. I really need to go back one day, it was so good. Lunch is great too... They have Kobe Beef Burgers that you call the toppings. From traditional to Strawberry aioli. So many different cheeses you won't believe it. And, I love their home fries served in a can. Dinner is good, but can get pretty pricey if you are throwing caution to the wind. My wife once got a meatloaf flight, that had kobe beef and buffalo. Don't be fooled from the outside, there's no windows really... this place is awesome!

All alone on a midweek morning and outside the snow is falling and I hear the calling; a restaurant with a fireplace and an OTB what else could a girl want for a solo business lunch. I had heard good thing about the food and where else in North Aurora could you get a lovely meal and bet the ponies? I had a great seared tuna salad and I enjoyed the solitude. The service was spot on too. Major midday downside, I smelled like I had just attended a bon fire for the rest of my workday. Don't sit too near the fire pit!

Turf Room is a nice departure from the typical stand alone restaurant. You expect them to be good, have a unique atmosphere, and for the menu to delight you with variety and the Chef's whim. We feel this place does just that--mostly well, occasionally not.* Do try: The braised short rib. Plentiful. Perfect. The celeriac terrine was tender with a decadent bark, alongside whole baby carrots. Meat 'n potatoes on crack. My gosh. Do try: The Bubba Chop...Frenched pork chop/2-bone with a yam and corn hash, topped in a cherry BBQ sauce. Side of perfectly blanched spinach in a light cream...not too fancy. Righteous. *Do avoid: The Roasted Lamb Marrow Bone. Yes, it's a delicacy. No it isn't supposed to be roasted so hot the fat disappears into the bone or evaporates. It's supposed to be gelatinous. This was vaporized, and a disappointment. The citrus purée and pickled onion would have cut nicely. Do try: Any of the salads. Always fresh. A bit expected, but perfectly portioned ingredients. The Pear Salad stands out. Wines: Tons. Even the house Cab is a good pick. Cocktails: Generous and good. Get a Martini. Turf Room recently shifted Chefs, and the new residency is working out nicely. I'd like to re-try the Meatloaf Flight again that's left me wanting in the past. That's the thing here...it feels hit and miss, but excellent when it hits. This isn't a complaint. It's awesome to find a restaurant that tries as Turf Room does. As you know, there's MUCH worse in the burbs--I'm continually amazed that people consider the ordinary to be good food, and I'm not even a person of means. This is our 3rd season and we keep returning. Expect to pay an average of $80-90 per person, if drinking by the glass. More when you drink wine by the bottle. Funny the lack of reviews here for Turf Room. (This was maybe our 5th visit, so I'm somewhat a culprit.)

I've been here and to their sister restaurant, Saddle Room, multiple times. I have yet to be disappointed. Everything on their menu is very good and different from similar items elsewhere. One thing to note, their flatbread crust is like a cracker. If you're expecting thin pizza crust you'll be thrown off.

The menu and atmosphere are nice enough. The service has been hit or miss. And my boyfriend and I have never been pleased with the portion sizes. You don't get enough for what you spend by a long shot. I like the cocktail menu, but have had trouble ordering their signature drinks.

After a horrible first visit we decided to give this place another try. Ugh we should have stayed home and here's why : Came in on a Friday and my wife was rudely talked to by a fat lady at the front wearing black pants and a white and black moomoo (sp). We came in to sit at the bar and were directed to a scorching hot fire pit. When we sat there our server tried to take our food order, but then informed us that we couldn't order that in that area?! My wife wanted a salad and I wanted an appetizer. She was denied her salad but yet I could order calamari?! Seriously?!?! Why can't someone order a fucking salad in their fire pit!? The server ordered it anyways and we noticed him getting yelled at for it....I was very disappointed in their manager for handling it that way. They need to learn how to talk to their staff members better and value them. Our server was very annoyed by them and it came out in our service, but since we saw what happened we didn't take it personal. He was trying to accommodate us but the turf room didn't allow him to. What an insult!!!! We won't be back.

Their flat bread pizzas are unique and tasty. Macaroni and cheese flatbread pizza? Yes please. Nice atmosphere and if you're interested, there's off track betting. I've only been here for lunch a few times. Fast service and it's always packed so it seems like this is the place to be.

Came here with a friend for a conference. We were stuffed in the back in a dark room, (with the lights on) The show with 4 speakers lasted a little over two hours and then we moved to the other side of the building for drinks and appetizers. The service was Johnny on the spot and the food was delicious. The whole place was modern with western décor. The individual washrooms were a nice touch. I don't get out this way much. But it will be on my permanent radar when I am.

We are regulars here but tonite was special! Everything was perfect. Our waiter, Frederick, was wonderful and his suggestions on entrees and wine was spot on. Try the new 187 Kale salad. The new duck preparation was simply perfect.

I had my wedding lunch here and come back time and time again. If you want an amazing martini with service to match, this is the spot!

Food is excellent. Nice atmosphere. Good luck getting in here on the weekend without a reservation but they will always seat you in the bar. Try the back wine room!
